The worlds first atlas was published on May 22, 1570. Abraham Ortelius, an engraver and a book collector published this first atlas. He called it ‘Theatrum Orbis Terrarum’, which means Theatre of the World. Ortelius compiled 70 maps together and created history in the fields of map-making and bookmaking.
