No strict rules as such. But the thumb rule is: you should engage in cardio-vascular or aerobic exercise for about 30 minutes a day – 5 days a week. For running, you must wear a good running shoe, take complex carbohydrate (not instant glucose drink). Beginners should start with two to four runs per week at about 20 to 30 minutes for about 2 km and then can increase gradually, without straining.
